FOREST

Boulder, Colorado

KEY ELEMENTS

  • Cozy guest retreat
  • Personalized training center
  • Warmly lit American clay walls
  • Luxury bathroom with steam shower

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A natural disaster necessitated the Forest project. After Boulder’s 2013 flood, our client needed her damaged basement completely remodeled. She envisioned a new space with multiple purposes, including a guest bedroom, gym and entertainment area.

After meticulous evaluation, Alpine Summit Homes assessed and resolved the water damage issues. We then laid out a new functional floor plan and incorporated all the newly designed elements. The walls were finished with natural American Clay, which emits negative ions, creating an organic feel when walking through the space. The Italian grotto-style walk-in steam shower features limestone tiles lining the walls and floor.

We selected lighting that minimizes the feeling of being on a lower level while illuminating walls to expand the feel of the space. With a guest suite, state-of-the-art cinema, high-end workout area, and complete kitchen facilities, our client’s new basement evolved into an escape from the ordinary.
